In May 2000 Epoh made the pilgrimage from St John Pied de Port in the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostella, a distance of over 600 miles. These frescos are a homage to the journey, to the ‘Sonnets of Dark Love’ by F. Lorca and to Shakespeare’s sonnets, all of which inspired Epoh to look more deeply at the land and the relationship between walking and the imagination.
